It’s a little known fact that along the banks of slow moving Spree river, which meanders through the capital’s center, one can find some of the city’s most buzzing little cafes and restaurants, as well as hidden pockets of magical waterside scenery.

To explore Berlin’s astonishing watery edges sign up for the Gastro-Rallye Riverside, a grand summer tour which is Berlin’s most unique culinary excursion. On this four-hour voyage along the Spree you will dine a la fresco on balmy summer evenings, feel a cool breeze and listen to the relaxing sound of water lapping the canals. Together with your lifestyle guide you will satisfy your hunger with choice examples of local snack food and world-class cuisine. The settings are one-of-a-kind: exotic water terraces, hidden amongst jungle-like vegetation; charismatic bistros by the canal; chic outdoor lounges with dining beds; and a beach bar alongside a floating swimming pool.

The tour is also a whirlwind of discovery across one of Berlin’s most exciting developing areas. From the bohemian trendy scene of Kreuzberg’s Media Spree to the riverside scene of the emerging “Kreuzköln” area you will witness the weird and wonderful, the glamorous and the grotesque. It will bring you face to face with street art, funky local characters, the city’s newest scene and atmospheric locations way beyond the tourist trail.
